Online Learning Resources through the Free Library

by Brice Peterson on 2021-01-29T09:50:00-05:00 in About Library Research, Career & Major Resources | 0 Comments

We've previously mentioned that Rosemont students can access streaming video on Kanopy and Hoopla through the Free Library of Philadelphia, but did you know that the Free Library also has a host of online learning and career support resources as well?

One especially useful resource in their collection is Lynda.com (also known as LinkedIn Learning). This website has hundreds of video tutorials and learning paths in a number of different business, technology, and creative specialties. You can learn digital photography and Adobe Creative Suite or teach yourself software programming or business development. Many of the skills taught on Lynda are highly in demand on the job market, so this can be a great way to build out your resume or even just try something new!

Beyond Lynda, the Free Library's digital learning collection also includes: Mango Languages, a helpful online tool for learning new languages or brushing up on existing language skills; Learning Express Library Career Center, which helps build job search skills through sections on business writing and interview techniques; and Universal Class, which provides self-paced online continuing education classes.

Once again, the fastest way to sign up for Free Library card is by doing so online here.
