  1. Books and articles, including those from other institutions (through Interlibrary Loan or by traveling)
  2. Scholarly sources
  3. Depending on level, possibly archival resources, fieldwork, personally-conducted scientific study, or other original research
  4. Number of sources may vary, but probably 20 or more
